Latency affects interaction, not build time
Round-trip latency affects SSH input response, Screen Sharing, and file operations. Builds run on the remote physical machine, so a slow local connection doesn't mean remote compilation will slow down by the same amount.
Uploading code, downloading dependencies, and retrieving build artifacts also depend on bandwidth and connections to remote repositories. Sync your project and run a full build before drawing conclusions from a single latency figure.
Test from your usual work network
Carrier routing, Wi-Fi, proxy connections, and time of day can all affect your experience. Test SSH responsiveness and Screen Sharing with the network you use for work.
After your machine is ready, note connection latency, packet loss, and any freezes over a continuous session. If you need help, include the location, order number, time, and time zone in your support ticket so the team can identify whether the issue is with the connection or the machine.
